Information You Enter
Search Terms
When a name, location, or other search term is typed into a search tool, that query is sent to the third-party provider operating the tool. Clinton County Inmate Population does not store those search terms in its own database.
Messages
If you send an email or contact message, the information in that message may be kept long enough to read it, respond, and maintain ordinary business records. It is not shared outside the organization unless a legal obligation requires it.
Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, the site may collect technical details when a page loads. These details help measure use, diagnose errors, and keep pages available.
- IP address.
- Browser name and version.
- Device type and operating system.
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them.
- Referring site or search engine, when available.
- Date and time stamps.
Cookies
Cookies and similar tools may be used to understand site traffic, remember basic preferences, and support advertising or analytics. Browser settings can block or delete cookies, although some features may work differently when cookies are disabled.
How the Information Is Used
- Keep the site functioning, available, and reasonably fast.
- Send search requests to the partner service that powers a search box.
- Understand which Clinton County jail, court, and locator pages visitors use most.
- Find broken links, security issues, and technical errors.
- Display advertising that may be selected based on general interests.
Other Websites
The site links to sheriff, jail, court, corrections, federal locator, and third-party search resources. Once you leave this site, the privacy policy and terms of the destination site control how your data is handled. Public-record requests made to a government office, including requests under ORC 149.43, are handled by that office rather than by this site.
Advertising partners may use their own cookies or identifiers to measure ads or show interest-based advertising across websites. Those systems are controlled by the advertising provider, not by Clinton County Inmate Population.
